Bouchra Jarrar is a French designer and artistic director who won international critical acclaim.
She spent twenty years working for prestigious fashion houses and has defined an unique style, precise, daring and elegant.
She started her career working for some of the most iconic couture houses: Jean Paul Gaultier (in the costume jewelry department) and Christian Lacroix- as head of the haute couture department.
By their side, she became an expert in Métiers d’art and French most intricate technics.
A decisive meeting with Nicolas Ghesquière was the start of a ten years collaboration. Bouchra Jarrar became the head of his studio for the prestigious Balenciaga house.
Her love of creation and that rich work experience encourage her to open her eponymous fashion house in 2009.
The Bouchra Jarrar house developed ready-to-wear and Haute couture collections.
A contemporary vision of the elusive Parisian chic, expert cutting, elaborate mix of exclusive materials helped her making a name for herself in the global fashion market.
Thanks to the quality of her creations and a high level of demand in her work, Bouchra Jarrar obtained the official Haute Couture label.
In March 2016, Bouchra Jarrar was annonced as the new artistic director fo Lanvin women’s lines.
She decided to close her eponymous label to focus on the renewal of the French couture house.
She left Lanvin after two critically acclaimed runway shows.
Her new found interest in photography allows Bouchra Jarrar to develop new forms of visual expression, through collaborations within fashion or music industries.
Transmitting her expertise is very important for Bouchra Jarrar and she works regularly with associations helping young women’s reintegration into society and the workplace.
In January 2020 Bouchra gives continuation to her Maison with a new collection, EDITION N°1, presented during the Paris Couture permanent member.

7th of July 2017 : insignia of « Officier » of the « Ordre des Arts et Lettres. »
16th of December 2013 : The Bouchra Jarrar label receives the « haute couture » appellation delivered by the « commission de classement couture création » depending upon the Ministry of Industry
